Resource/Traffic Manager

As Traffic Manager, working closely with the Creative/Operational/Client Service/Delivery teams, you will be responsible for ensuring all creative and digital platforms resources are deployed appropriately against requirements from clients and internal work.

You will be partnering with the Creative Director and Account Director(s) to triage all resource requirements, assessing the best route for the project at hand based on its nature and resource availability against deadlines, assigning resource and process schedule requests submitted via internal job management systems, and allocating tasks to individual scheduled resources across all creative and studio.

You will be responsible for checking and chasing on the progress of projects and communicating with others as necessary to ensure deadlines are met. 

Keu duties

  • Triage requirements to determine the best route in for the type of work involved (e.g. pitching, conceptual creative, BAU/adapts, copywriting only, financial typesetting work etc.), escalating and discussing with stakeholders as necessary over any issues (e.g. prioritisation on potential resource conflicts or disagreements over what is required)
  • Ensure that a job number is assigned to all work (including pitches) through Client Services or other and circulated to all involved for recording of time
  • Discuss likely time requirements against individual resources with stakeholders, or assign based on agreed proposals
  • Manage and book time into the schedule to ensure that team and external freelance resource know which projects they are due to work on and what the delivery expectations are for that current day and week ahead
  • Revise and juggle schedules as required to account for asset availability, changes to briefs or priorities – e.g. an urgent unplanned work requirement, pitches
  • Check and chase progress on tasks to ensure completion on time against deadlines - report any deviances from this in good time to take corrective action
  • Have a good understanding and be able to advise on internal department processes
  • Be proficient in the use of internal project management and reporting tools such as Navision, Kantata (Mavenlink) and any additional or replacement systems
  • Assess trends in the types and volume of work to make recommendations regarding future resource requirements
  • Make recommendations to improve internal processes to increase the efficiency of the team or to reduce the potential risk of errors, including recommending improvements to the current tools used to manage resource
  • Proactively make recommendations and drive forward how scheduling is managed in the company
  • To perform any other duties which may be required from time to time
  • Follow DCX HR and resource management systems (timesheet recording, holiday bookings, use of NAV etc.) and ensure others in the team are doing similar
