As HR Business Partner, you'll be responsible for developing and driving the DCX People agenda, applying a forward-thinking, commercial, and pragmatic lens to decision-making to support the business in achieving its goals.

The role of HR Business Partner will be vital in continuing to support DCX in the early 
stages of its establishment as one agency.

You'll play a pivotal role in the development and embedding of the values framework to facilitate cultural change and engagement, carry out continuous review of policy and benefit offerings to ensure attraction and retention of key talent, and implement CSR and DEI initiatives to ensure DCX continues to be a responsible, equal opportunities employer.

The role will balance strategic thinking alongside practical action across a broad range of people related matters. As HR Business Partner, you'll need to be equally comfortable and experienced in managing Employee Relations (ER) cases through to carrying out project, administration, and operational duties to support the wider business and people team.

Key Duties

General
  • Act as the People and HR lead for DCX, driving the agenda for our people
  • Providing leaders, managers and colleagues with honest, pragmatic, and accurate people support to enable the business to achieve its aims
  • Balance strategic thinking alongside efficient practical administration
  • Have a strong knowledge of employee-related matters – extending from payroll and learning and development, through to talent acquisition and employee relations matters (including grievance, disciplinary, and restructuring)
  • Provide full HR support and guidance to business managers and colleagues, ensuring that best practice in people management is achieved
  • Maintain an awareness of employee / management issues, identify root causes, update and make recommendations to key stakeholders as appropriate
Leadership and Management
  • Management and leadership of the People team
  • Assessing, designing, and rolling out HR / People processes, procedures and policies, to ensure that employees and managers receive a seamless HR / People service.
  • Liaise with the wider People and Operations team to enable efficient delivery of HR administration
  • Engage with HR / People stakeholders across Paragon to align around broader initiatives where appropriate
Regulations and Legal
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all relevant people legislation, working with the People team to implement new or amended policies and procedures, ensuring that the company meets all employment law requirements.
  • Lead on TUPE transfers and organisational design programmes
  • Ensure a consistent and measured approach in all people-related matters, in compliance with current employment legislation
Culture and Comms
  • Champion the People & Culture activity – including driving change in areas such as well-being, social, sustainability, and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI)
  • Ensure colleagues are kept up-to-date with People activity – drafting and reviewing internal communications, including internal newsletters, and presenting at all-hands meetings
  • Drive and support wider culture and change programmes
Management and Reporting
  • Monitor engagement and drive change initiatives – running engagement surveys, and developing strong relationships with peers to keep an ear to the ground on workplace morale
  • Establish and maintain appropriate systems for monitoring, measuring, and reporting on HR activity within agreed formats and timescales
Talent Management
  • Shape the talent acquisition and management approach, providing hands-on recruitment activity as and when required
  • Create a culture of learning across the organisation and lead on design / implementation of the learning and development programme
  • Drive adoption and engagement around appraisal and objective setting across DCX
  • Design the welcome / on-boarding / induction programmes and management of probation periods
Compensation and Payroll
  • Work with senior management to develop a commercially-viable remuneration strategy for managing existing salaries and new hires
  • Support the payroll process to ensure that colleagues are paid on time

We’re looking for

  • 8+ years senior HR experience
  • CIPD Qualified (Level 5 or above)
  • Experience of leading ER matters
  • Experience of UK employment practices and regulations
  • Experience working in an agency environment
  • Experience and confidence in working with a range of stakeholders – including colleagues and senior stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to adapt and respond to changing priorities
